Chanderi has been a cherished lightweight, breathable, climate-friendly and luxurious fabric among Indian women since ancient times, particularly adored by queens. Originating from the Vedic period and linked to Shishupal, Lord Krishna's cousin, the hometown of the saree- Chanderi- is renowned for its handwoven silk, cotton, and silk-cotton blends. The sarees are embellished with traditional motifs like coins, peacocks, flora and geometric designs, enhanced by gold and silver zari work. The production of Chanderi involves sourcing silk and mercerized cotton, dyeing threads with skilled techniques and fast-color dyes, warping the yarn into pirns, weaving the fabric using eknaliya or donaliya techniques and preparing the booti and pallu designs using the intricate "Jaala" harness. For Made To Order products, please allow 2-3 weeks for crafting and dispatch. These items are not eligible for return.
